As a wedding photographer, my passion goes beyond capturing moments; it extends to crafting unique visual narratives that tell a story of love, style, and a touch of whimsy. The Old Station shoot in Tintern was a project that unfolded like a dream—a collaboration between Heidi, the venue owner, Ros from Tiara magazine, and myself.
In the heart of Tintern, The Old Station, with its vintage charm, became the canvas for our creative endeavor. When Heidi shared the exciting news of their wedding license and Ros expressed interest in a collaborative shoot, I knew we were onto something magical. Our brainstorming sessions began, fueled by the desire to reflect the venue's vintage and quirky vibe in every detail.
Collaboration requires careful planning, and our trio took on distinct roles. I was tasked with finding models and overseeing hair and makeup, Ros curated a team of vendors and managed the day's schedule, while Heidi orchestrated the logistics of our chosen locations. The alignment of our visions set the stage for a seamless planning process.
Our models, including Coryn from Boutique Bridal and our bride Beth adorned in Victoria Valentine's couture, brought our visions to life. Against the vintage backdrop, we played with wood carvings and whimsical elements. Amy, our offbeat bridesmaid/bride, rocked a trendy blue/green dress, perfectly capturing the essence of current bridal trends. The field by the river added a playful touch, with our models donning Converse trainers, embodying a free-spirited celebration. As the day unfolded, each photograph became a testament to the synergy of creative minds and the magic that happens when a shared vision comes to life. The Old Station shoot was more than just a project—it was a journey of passion, collaboration, and the joy of seeing dreams materialize through the lens of my camera.
In the midst of our creative whirlwind, another enchanting character emerged—Nicola, the mother of the bride. She exuded sophistication and grace, first adorned in a Chanel-inspired navy and cream ensemble from the Copper Tree in Usk. A quick change into a beaded number from Baroque Bridal transformed her look, offering us two distinct yet equally stunning personas. The shoot unfolded at a whirlwind pace, with four models, swift outfit changes, and the ever-looming threat of rain. Yet, amidst the flurry of activity, the presence of a few beloved pet dogs added a touch of spontaneity and joy to the day.
