With the anticipation of the new season of Game of Thrones, the idea sparked to create a themed bridal shoot against the backdrop of the stunning Berwick Lodge. This Victorian-era venue, nestled in Bristol, exudes both elegance and quirkiness, offering an ideal canvas for our vision. The lush gardens, adorned with ornate structures, added an enchanting woodland ambiance to the setting.
Lili: The Sansa Stark Lookalike
Our model, Lili, who occasionally works at Berwick Lodge, proved to be the perfect fit. Meeting her in person revealed an uncanny resemblance to Sansa Stark, inspiring the entire shoot's theme. With minimal professional assistance, including contributions from Jo at Berwick Lodge, we took charge of makeup, hair, and styling, infusing simplicity and authenticity into every detail.
Regal Attire: Wedding Dresses
Dresses provided by Lisa Keating epitomized regal elegance. The first, a pale gold corset intricately adorned with beads, paired with a layered net skirt, exuded whimsical charm. A lace cape added a touch of royalty to the ensemble, while a handcrafted headpiece of twisted hazel, adorned with gold and beads, completed the look. The second dress, boasting similar gold tones and intricate beadwork, offered versatility, complemented by the lace cape.
Floral Wedding Artistry
Lisa Elliot's floral arrangements elevated the shoot with a natural forest aesthetic. Vibrant reds and purples juxtaposed against lush green ferns and foliage, accentuated by orange florist wire, imbued the bouquets with a captivating allure. Lisa's creative touch extended to a stunning flower headpiece and embellishments for the garden swing and table, enhancing the visual narrative.
Exploring Creativity: Unveiling the Shoot
The table setup, adorned with Berwick Lodge ornaments and eclectic props, including a 17th-century sword, added depth and character. Despite the summer heat, Lili flawlessly posed barefoot alongside a majestic white horse, capturing the essence of the shoot's theme. The relaxed atmosphere allowed for creative exploration, including experimental shots with a Lensbaby and crystal.
